Spantik, the Golden Peak (7,027m), rises above the Basha Valley and is one of the Karakoram's most beautiful mountains. This trek follows the classic approach from Arandu village up the Chogolungma Glacier to Spantik Base Camp, a demanding but non-technical route through remote glacier country with superb high-mountain scenery and a real expedition atmosphere.

Trek Itinerary

Days 1-2, Skardu to Arandu

Jeep up the Basha Valley to Arandu, the last village. Trek briefing and preparations.

Days 3-5, Onto the Chogolungma

Trek onto the Chogolungma Glacier, camping progressively higher with growing views of Spantik.

Days 6-7, Spantik Base Camp

Reach Spantik Base Camp (approx. 4,700m); rest and explore the moraine and viewpoints.

Days 8-12, Return to Skardu

Retrace the glacier and valley back to Arandu and jeep to Skardu, with weather buffer.
