Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1, Arrive Islamabad
Pickup and briefing; overnight in the capital.
Day 2, Fly / drive to Chitral
Scenic flight to Chitral (weather permitting) or the road via Lowari Tunnel. Evening in Chitral town.
Day 3, Chitral to Kalash valleys
Jeep into the Kalash valleys; settle in Bumburet and meet your local Kalash guide.
Day 4, Festival day
Full day at the festival, collective dancing, singing and rituals in the village jestak-han and dancing grounds.
Day 5, Rumbur valley
Explore Rumbur, its temples, homes and terraced fields; continued festival events.
Day 6, Birir valley
Visit Birir, the quietest of the three valleys, for a gentler, more intimate side of Kalash life.
Day 7, Chitral
Return to Chitral; the Shahi Mosque, Chitral Fort exterior and the bazaar. Hindukush views.
Day 8, Return toward Islamabad
Fly / drive back toward the capital; overnight en route if by road.
Day 9, Departure
Transfer to Islamabad airport for departure.
