Hushe Valley is Skardu's most beautiful accessible trekking valley, far less visited than Baltoro but equally spectacular. Karakoram giants surround every camp. Traditional Balti villages, apricot orchards and the incredible backdrop of Masherbrum make this the ideal introduction to Skardu trekking.
Trek Itinerary
Day 1, Skardu to Khaplu
Drive via Shyok River. Overnight at Khaplu Fort (Serena).
Day 2, Khaplu to Hushe Village
Drive to Hushe (last road). Meet porters and begin trek up the valley.
Days 3 to 4, Hushe to Upper Valley
Trek through traditional villages and apricot orchards with Masherbrum growing larger each hour.
Day 5, Aling Glacier Day Trip
Side trip onto Aling Glacier for panoramic views. Camp at 4,200m.
Days 6 to 7, Return to Skardu
Trek back to Hushe. Jeep to Khaplu for Chaqchan Mosque visit. Drive to Skardu.
