K6 & K7 Base Camp (Charakusa Valley) Trek
The Charakusa Valley above Hushe is a cathedral of granite - home to K6, K7, Nayser Brakk and some of the finest alpine rock in the world. This trek follows the Charakusa Glacier to the base camps used by elite climbers, through spectacular meadows and moraine. It is a demanding but non-technical walk into one of the most beautiful and remote corners of the Karakoram.
Trek Itinerary
Days 1-2, Skardu to Hushe
Jeep up the Hushe Valley to Hushe village, the last settlement. Preparations and acclimatisation walk.
Days 3-5, Into the Charakusa
Trek up the Charakusa Glacier past Spangsar meadows to camps beneath the granite towers.
Days 6-8, K6 & K7 Base Camps
Explore the base camps of K6 and K7 and the surrounding walls; rest and photography days.
Days 9-14, Return to Skardu
Descend the glacier back to Hushe and jeep to Skardu, with buffer days for weather.
