Walk the Region, Not Just Drive It
A tour built for travelers who want real walking time, not just vehicle sightseeing, a series of accessible tracks and trails around Skardu strung together into one itinerary. Sits between our standard sightseeing tours and the serious multi-week expedition treks like K2 Base Camp: genuine trail time each day, but no technical skill or extended trekking commitment required.
Arrive Skardu, check in. Afternoon hike up the Kharpocho Fort track, a short, moderately steep trail with panoramic sunset views over the Indus Valley.
A full morning walking through Nangsoq Valley's organic farm tracks, followed by the streamside trails of Chunda Valley in the afternoon, an easy, low-altitude introduction to the trip's walking pace.
Walk the trail up to Upper Kachura Lake, then a lakeside track at Satpara Lake in the afternoon, two contrasting lake walks in a single day.
A proper half-day trail through Basho Valley's pine forest into the open alpine meadows above, the most substantial walking day so far, following the valley's glacial stream upward.
Drive up to Deosai, then walk sections of the plateau on foot rather than only viewing it from the vehicle, open, level walking at altitude, with wildflower meadows in season (June to August).
Early departure via the KKH, arriving Islamabad by evening.
