Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1, Islamabad to Skardu
Drive the KKH via Chilas to Skardu. Check in and relax.
Day 2, Shangrila & Kachura Lakes
Shangrila Resort and Upper Kachura Lake.
Day 3, Deosai National Park
Full-day 4x4 expedition to Deosai. Sheosar Lake wildlife spotting.
Day 4, Shigar Fort & Skardu to Gilgit
Morning at Shigar Fort, then drive to Gilgit city in the afternoon.
Day 5, Naltar Valley
Jeep drive up to Naltar Valley, turquoise alpine lakes and pine forest, one of Gilgit-Baltistan's most scenic side valleys.
Day 6, Phander Valley (Ghizer)
Drive into the Ghizer district to Phander Valley, known for its calm river and lush green meadows.
Day 7, Shandur Pass
Continue to Shandur Pass (3,700m), home of the world's highest polo ground, weather permitting.
Day 8, Return to Gilgit
Drive back to Gilgit city. Free evening to explore the bazaar.
Day 9, Return to Islamabad
Fly from Gilgit to Islamabad, or drive back via the KKH.
