A ten-day adventure pairing Skardu's lakes and forts with the most famous view in Pakistan, Fairy Meadows, the alpine meadow that gazes straight up at the 8,126 m Nanga Parbat. Fly into Skardu, explore Baltistan, then travel the Karakoram Highway to the Raikot base and up to Fairy Meadows for the Killer Mountain at sunrise. English-speaking guide throughout and every permit handled.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1, Arrive Islamabad, Fly to Skardu

Airport meet & greet in Islamabad and the scenic one-hour flight to Skardu. Settle in by the lakes.

Day 2, Kachura Lakes & Katpana

Upper Kachura Lake boat ride and the Katpana Cold Desert dunes.

Day 3, Shigar Valley

Shigar Fort heritage tour and the valley orchards.

Day 4, Khaplu Valley

Shyok River drive to Khaplu Palace, the Chaqchan Mosque and Manthoka Waterfall.

Day 5, Skardu to Chilas (KKH)

A grand Karakoram Highway day along the Indus gorge, overnighting near the Raikot base.

Day 6, Raikot to Fairy Meadows

Jeep up the famous Raikot track, then a guided walk through pine forest to the Fairy Meadows and your cabins.

Day 7, Nanga Parbat Base / Beyal

Sunrise on Nanga Parbat, then a hike toward Beyal Camp and the Nanga Parbat view point.

Day 8, Fairy Meadows to Islamabad side

Descend the jeep track and drive the Karakoram Highway back toward Islamabad, overnight en route.

Day 9, Karakoram Highway & Taxila

Complete the drive to Islamabad with a stop at the Taxila heritage sites where time allows.

Day 10, Depart Islamabad

Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for your onward international connection.

Questions About This Tour

After the jeep to the Raikot base, it is a 1.5 to 2 hour uphill walk (or pony ride) to the meadows. It is moderate but non-technical; we keep the pace relaxed and carry your bags.
The Fairy Meadows track is open roughly April to October. Outside those months snow closes the jeep road, so we schedule this tour within the open season.
Yes, an English-speaking licensed guide is with you throughout, and we arrange all applicable permits and NOCs.
