Nagma Valley (also spelled Nagam Valley) is one of Skardu's quieter side valleys, a short drive from the city but a world away from the main tourist circuit. Terraced wheat fields, apricot and mulberry orchards, and stone-and-timber Balti farmhouses line the valley floor beneath bare granite ridges.
There are no major built attractions here, the appeal is the everyday rhythm of rural Baltistan. Best visited in a half-day trip from Skardu city, ideally in April to May when the orchards blossom or August to September during the apricot harvest.
