Balamik Valley β€” Remote Karakoram Side Valley

Off-the-Beaten-PathScenic DrivePhotographyAdventure

Balamik Valley (also spelled Bilamik) is one of the lesser-known side valleys around Skardu, located in Rondu District roughly 70km from Skardu city. The jeep track starts about 20km past the Astak Nala point on the Skardu-Gilgit road, crossing the Dambodas Suspension Bridge over the Indus before continuing through several small villages to reach the valley itself.

There are no formal facilities here, which is part of the appeal, Balamik Valley suits travelers with a local guide and a 4x4 who want a genuine off-the-beaten-path excursion. Camping is possible for those wanting an overnight stay.
