Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrive in Skardu
Fly from Islamabad — just 1 hour. Our driver meets you at Skardu Airport. Check in and unwind. In the afternoon, visit the iconic Shangrila Resort on Lower Kachura Lake — instantly you understand why they call it Heaven on Earth.
Day 2 — Upper Kachura Lake & Deosai
Morning: a 20-minute hike up to Upper Kachura Lake — crystal turquoise water surrounded by granite peaks. Rent a traditional wooden boat. After lunch, full-day 4x4 expedition to Deosai National Park (4,114m) — one of the world's highest plateaus. Spot Himalayan brown bears at Sheosar Lake.
Day 3 — Shigar Fort & Katpana Desert
Drive to Shigar Valley and explore the 17th-century Shigar Fort — a royal palace restored by the Aga Khan Trust and now a Serena Heritage Hotel. Continue to Katpana Cold Desert — extraordinary sand dunes at 2,226m with snow peaks as backdrop.
Day 4 — Satpara Lake & Skardu City
Morning boat ride on Satpara Lake. Hike to Kharpocho Fort for sweeping views over the Indus Valley and Skardu town. Browse the Bazaar for Balti crafts, dried apricots and local gems.
Day 5 — Fly Home
Leisurely breakfast. Transfer to Skardu Airport and fly back. Tour ends with memories to last a lifetime.
