Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1-3 β Islamabad to Skardu & City Highlights
Drive the KKH to Skardu. Shangrila, Kachura Lakes, Satpara Lake and Kharpocho Fort.
Day 4-5 β Shigar & Khaplu
Shigar Fort Residence overnight. Drive to Khaplu Palace, Chaqchan Mosque and Manthoka Waterfall.
Day 6-7 β Deosai National Park
Two days on the Deosai plateau β Sheosar Lake and wildlife spotting.
Day 8-9 β Astore & Fairy Meadows
Drive to Astore Valley, then jeep and hike up to Fairy Meadows for close Nanga Parbat views.
Day 10-11 β Gilgit & Naltar Valley
Drive to Gilgit city, then a day trip into Naltar Valley in the Ghizer region β alpine lakes and pine forest.
Day 12-14 β Hunza Valley
Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, Ganish Village, Eagle's Nest sunset and free time in Karimabad.
Day 15-16 β Attabad Lake, Passu & Nagar
Boat ride on Attabad Lake, Passu Cones, Borith Lake and Nagar Fort with Rakaposhi views.
Day 17 β Rest Day
Free day in Hunza for optional short hikes, shopping or simply resting before the return journey.
Day 18-20 β Return Journey
Scenic drive back down the full length of the KKH to Islamabad, or fly out from Gilgit or Skardu, arriving home by Day 20.

Frequently Asked Questions
This is our most complete itinerary, but it can be shortened to 15 or 12 days by dropping the Ghizer or rest days. Ask us for a custom version.
No technical trekking is required β the Fairy Meadows hike is short (about 2-3 hours) and the rest is 4x4 sightseeing, but the length of the trip does require reasonable stamina for daily travel.
