- Upper Kachura Lake — still water and soft morning light before the wind picks up

One practical tip
Skardu’s mountain horizon means the sun disappears behind peaks noticeably earlier than the “official” sunset time — arrive at least 30–45 minutes before you’d normally expect golden hour to begin.
