Cross a high-altitude glaciated pass at 5,585m โ€” one of the great trekking crossings on Earth. Start on the Baltoro Glacier, reach Concordia and then cross Gondogoro La to descend through Hushe Valley. You pass within touching distance of K2, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum โ€” a full circle of the greatest mountains in the world.

Itinerary

Days 1โ€“9 โ€” Askole to Concordia

Follow the K2 Base Camp approach โ€” Jhola, Paiju, Urdukas to Concordia (4,600m). Same as K2 trek first half.

Day 10 โ€” Acclimatisation at Concordia

Rest and acclimatise at Concordia. Optional day hike toward K2 Base Camp.

Days 11โ€“12 โ€” Ali Camp & Gondogoro La

Move to Ali Camp (5,020m). Next morning: early 3 AM start. Cross Gondogoro La (5,585m) with ropes and crampons. Descend to Khuspang (4,400m).

Days 13โ€“16 โ€” Descent to Hushe

Trek down through Hushe Valley over 3 days. Jeep back to Skardu.

FAQs

Yes โ€” basic crampon use and rope experience needed. The pass section requires ascending a 50โ€“55ยฐ snow/ice slope. We provide training at Concordia.

Gondogoro La adds 3 extra days and crosses a technical pass at 5,585m, but gives a full circuit without retracing steps. More demanding but more rewarding.
