Off-Road Jeep Safari Tour โ€” 8 Days

๐Ÿ“… 8 Days / 7 Nights ๐Ÿš— By Road ๐Ÿ“ From Islamabad โญ 4.9 (17 reviews)

A tour built entirely around off-road 4×4 adventure rather than standard sightseeing โ€” remote valleys most visitors never reach, dune buggy runs on the Katpana desert, and genuine wilderness camping. For travelers who want the jeep itself to be part of the adventure, not just the transport.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 โ€” Islamabad to Skardu

Fly or drive in (flight recommended to preserve time for off-road days). Check in to a Skardu city hotel and gear briefing for the week ahead.

Day 2 โ€” Astak Nala (Stak Valley)

Head out along the Skardu-Gilgit road (JSR) into Rondu Subdivision. Astak Nala, the largest valley in Rondu, offers a genuine off-road introduction with Indus River viewpoints along the way.

Day 3 โ€” Tormik Valley

A serious 4x4 day into Tormik Valley โ€” dramatic granite cliffs, the high Broq meadows, and (if timed with the season) a chance to see the local polo tradition. Wilderness camping overnight.

Day 4 โ€” Balamik Valley

Continue to remote Balamik Valley via the Dambodas Suspension Bridge โ€” one of the least-visited valleys in the region, minimal facilities, genuine off-the-grid 4x4 terrain.

Day 5 โ€” Return to Skardu & Basho Valley

Drive back toward Skardu, detouring into Basho Valley for a change of scenery โ€” pine forest and alpine meadows after several days of bare rock and desert terrain.

Day 6 โ€” Deosai National Park โ€” Full Traverse

A full-day 4x4 expedition across the Deosai plateau, from Sheosar Lake through the widest stretches of the plain โ€” the longest and most scenic off-road day of the trip.

Day 7 โ€” Katpana Cold Desert โ€” Dune Buggy & Jeep Safari

A different kind of off-roading: dune buggy runs and a jeep safari across the Katpana/Sarfaranga Cold Desert dunes, plus Shigar Fort for a change of pace in the afternoon.

Day 8 โ€” Return to Islamabad

Fly or drive back to Islamabad, tour ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

No โ€” all driving is done by our experienced local drivers. This tour is about experiencing serious off-road terrain as a passenger, not self-driving.

Moderate โ€” most days are vehicle-based, but the terrain is rough and travel days are long. Camping nights have basic facilities, so a reasonable comfort with wilderness conditions helps.

It suits travelers with a genuine interest in remote 4x4 terrain rather than complete first-timers โ€” Balamik and Tormik Valleys in particular are remote with minimal facilities. Ask us if you'd prefer a gentler introduction first.

Tents, sleeping bags and basic camping equipment are included for the two wilderness camping nights (Tormik and Balamik Valleys); personal items like a headlamp are worth bringing yourself.
