Choose Swat if…

You have at least 5 days, want a genuinely varied, higher-altitude experience — glacial lakes, a wildflower plateau, centuries-old forts — and don’t mind flying or a longer road journey to get there.

These aren’t really competing destinations so much as different trips entirely — Swat suits a shorter, easier green-valley escape, while Skardu suits a longer, more ambitious mountain trip.
